A short story idea that I turned into storyboards and, later, this animatic!

Made for my story artist portfolio: (natalienourigat.daportfolio.com/) I’m visiting Burbank November 6-9 to visit a friend and tour animation studios, and I wanted my portfolio a little spruced up. :)

Frames drawn in Manga Studio 5 (I use a brush pack by Frenden) and Photoshop CS4. Video assembled in Windows Movie Maker.

Girl is pioneer at quarterback for Florida High School

That first picture just fills me with such joy and a feeling of hope.

HEY ERIN HEY!

It’s the last picture that gets me. Her eyes are off reading the defense, because she’s not handing off to the RB, that’s a fake. She’s the QB and she’d doing her goddamn job and she’s doing it well. GET IT GIRL.

“Everybody says, ‘What happens when she gets hit?’ ” Gatewood said. “This isn’t a knock on Erin, but she’s bigger than 10 kids on my team. I have a wide receiver that weighs 25 pounds less than her. And the pads she wears are the same as the pads he wears.”

theres a post going around “imagine a high school romance movie about a girl who works her ass off to play on the football team and eventually becomes the quarterback and she dates one of the cheerleaders” well thats this girls life basically. the cheerleader in the top picture is her girlfriend.

this makes me so happy, it’s ridiculous

Every time I read this I get real happy.

18.05.2014I learned yesterday that when you see a bee on the ground that isn’t moving, it’s not necessarily dead, it’s probably just dead tired from carrying lots of pollen and needs re-energising. So if you mix a tiny bit of water with some sugar and let it drink it will give it the boost it needs to continue on its way. Bizarrely, this exact thing happened today! I found a knackered bee, mixed up some sugar water, gave it a drink and watched it guzzle and guzzle then suddenly come back to life. It was amazing! Thank you patrick, it was an excellent tip that i’ll never forget and will continue to pass on to others!

boost this because look bEES ARE DYING AND WE REALLY NEED TO HELP THEM!!!!!!

Help them, sweetlings!

StarCityGames.com has me drawing a lot of things I’m not used to… which is definitely not a bad thing! Ice is especially tricky — they took forever because I hate colorpicking off of photos. The eyedropper tool makes things so easy, but then I wouldn’t learn as much.

The ice studies were pretty much as they appeared in the original photograph, and the other studies were more of a Find The Easiest Way To Render This Out Without Killing Myself.
